Windows 8 tiles not working avg

Thanks Vijay B. But in ? It would have been nice to have functional tile apps but it's been easier to live without them than to spend time figuring out how to configure my device so that under special circumstances they behave as advertised.

Did nothing but give me a message that it could not fix file and look into the log file. I did that and then I ask what do I do next. It does not tell me how to fix the problems. I my just go back to Win 7 and get rid of the tiles. I've worked on this at least 10 time and still have the problem. The tiles on my Start Metro screen have stopped working. When I click on a tile it takes me to the relevant screen but after a short wait it returns to the Start screen' To get an app working I have to right click on the tile and uninstall it.

Then go to the Store tile which is still working OK find the app and install it. The tile for that app then works normally. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question 9. Report abuse. Details required :.

When I install AVG it blocks my internet access At this moment I have Avast installed What do you want me to do??? Not just disable it as there might be parts of it still running I'm Not familiar with your version, but perhaps it may still have it's own firewall up and running, and all you have done was to stop it's anti-virus protection. If after removal your Windows 8 Tiles start to work again at least then you have information and can head over to Kaspersky to either have them sort it out or ask for a refund.

If you search around and Google Windows 8 Tiles not working, you'll see quite a few links in regards to Anti-Virus software breaking this, some of the newer versions have fixed it, others find that if you had upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 and kept the old Windows 7 User Profile that this also causes issues as well.
