Hi, Since sharing most folders requires administrator privileges, you can prevent most sharing by configuring your users to run with standard user accounts. Standard users can only share folders within their profile and that can be prevents using the setting: User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Network Sharing, Prevent users from sharing files within their profile.
This setting requires Vista or later on the client. Thanks, Guy p. Saturday, December 4, PM. Monday, December 6, AM. Hi Balwan, To disable Sharing, as the above suggestions, you can use the policy "Prevent users from sharing files within their profile". Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Hi Balwan, The setting described above to prevent users from sharing files within their profile can be configured in an AD based GPO and deployed using your domain controller. Thanks, Guy.
Hi experts, I GPO. Thursday, December 16, AM. You can enable this manually via the Network Interface properties, or using a script with a tool such as "netset. Compiled versions of snetcfg are available for Windows and Windows XP. SFS is disabled by default when a Windows XP Pro system joins a domain, so no configuration should be necessary to support trusted scanning on Windows XP Pro systems in an enterprise network.
It's possible for users to enable SFS so there may be a need to use a Group Policy or other means to ensure that this is disabled.
It's possible to disable this option manually per machine. By default, simple file sharing is enabled on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer if the computer is not a member of a domain. With simple file sharing, you can share folders with everyone on your workgroup or network and make folders in your user profile private. However, if simple file sharing is enabled, you cannot prevent specific users and groups from accessing your shared folders.
If you turn off simple file sharing, you can permit specific users and groups to access a shared folder. Those users must be logged on with the credentials of user accounts that you have granted access to your shared folder. To disable simple file sharing as explained in KB , follow these steps:.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options — View. This method works just fine, but I wanted to disable simple file sharing on machines that had already been deployed, without any end user interaction.
