This aims to introduce students to current developments in computational mechanics. The last semester is devoted to the master thesis. Curriculum in Detail. A bachelor degree in engineering or in a related field is required in addition to an international English language test. Applicants coming from certain countries might be applied to addtional requirements.
More and complete information on the admission requirements can be found in the following link. Admission requirements. G raduates of this program can apply their knowledge in almost all engineering problems. Examples are simulation of automobile crash tests, prediction of failure load of materials, modeling biological tissues, development of functional materials to be used in robotics among others.
Therefore the students are also ideally prepared for career s at universit ies, laboratories and research centers. We have added a more detailed entry in our FAQs section about the possible application areas, which can be accessed via the following link. Application areas. Other sources of funding Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation Supports foreign students and graduates of all disciplines in Germany. It awards extensible one-year scholarships for students up to their first German degree and for graduates up to their doctorate. Requirements are particular qualifications in the respective academic field e.
Supports program for talented students. In order to qualify for selection, applicants must have high academic talent, character qualities as well as fundamental liberal commitment to political and social issues. Support is initially awarded for one year, in case of concentrated studies up to a total of three years. Supports foreign graduates. In addition to the scholarships, which are, as a rule, awarded for two years, scholarship holders can also attend a study preparation language course.
The Support is on disciplines important to these countries. Conditions are above average qualification for the study project, sufficient proficiency in German, personal and character integrity, willingness and ability to actively support the basic objectives and commitment to return home after completing the degree.
Through the exposure to the high-level course material, the students are able to make active use of the relevant literature in computational mechanics, which benefits them in their master's thesis work as well as their later professional life.
Seminar Lecture In connection to one of the modules chosen in the second semester, the students give a seminar lecture on a topic related to that module chosen in agreement with the module coordinator. The students present these lectures in front of a public audience, coinciding mostly with the students attending the same module.
The students are able to plan, prepare and present seminar lectures in an academic environment on previously unfamiliar topics. They know how to set and achive necessary objectives and produce relevant deliverables. To this end the students are able to time-manage their work, use information resources and work in teams.
The Master's Thesis should demonstrate the student's ability to work independently and within a given time-limit on a problem in his field of study according to scientific principles. The candidate will be given the opportunity to suggest a topic. The time-limit for completion of the Master's Thesis is limited to six months.
